Guiliani Will Sell Arms to Iran If They Seize American Hostages!

In the Republican Debate the other night Rudy said that the hostages were released by Iran on the day Reagan took office, and that he would act the same as Reagan did to get hostages back.

In other words, he would violate the Arms Export Control Act and sell arms and weapons to our enemies, a form of capitualization that was abhorrant, or so Reagan and his party members said as they trashed Jimmy Carter while at the same time sending a Hawk missile shipment to Iran.

Further words of wisdom from Rudy:  The Russians ended the cold war because Reagan had thousands of missiles aimed at them.  Insanity?  Poor historical knowledge, at best.

I may have a couple of words wrong here, but it's almost 100% correct, I believe.

And this guy leads the polls.  Dems, Get on Him!!

The truth about Reagan, as not told by Guiliani (Dianne - 9/7/2007 8:02:27 PM)
Thanks for catching Rudy's "spin"  during the recent debate on Reagan's ignoring and breaking the Rule of Law and selling weapons to our enemies!  Disgusting.  Unfortunately many of the written records of that shameful, Benedict Arnold behavior have been destroyed. Typical, I guess. Of the other records that weren't destroyed, well GWB removed them from public access at the beginning of his administration.  Heck, GWB followed right in the steps of Reagan and offered jobs in his administration to Eliot Abrams, Negroponte, John Poindexter, and Robert Gates, all of whom served in the Reagan Administration and either  knew of Iran Contra or pleaded guilty to a Iran-Contra related charge.

GWB: if you have nothing to be ashamed of, then why hide the records?

Wikipedia offers the following:

Faced with undeniable evidence of his involvement in the scandal, Reagan expressed regret regarding the situation at a nationally televised White House press conference on Ash Wednesday, March 4, 1987. Responding to questions, Reagan stated that his previous assertions that the U.S. did not trade arms for hostages were incorrect. He also stated that the Vice President knew of the plan.

And as to the fall of the Soviet Union, well the Soviets simply ran out of money. Any country where the citizens have to queue up to buy toilet paper certainly wasn't a threat to America. They couldn't even pay their soldiers a salary they were so bankrupt.

So Rudy Guiliani is falling right into the mold of George W. Bush, his father, and Ronald Reagan:  tell them anything and they'll believe it!  So Rudy...get your facts straight or we'll do it for you!
