At a luncheon in support of Delegate Paula Miller (87th) and Senate (6th) candidate Dr. Ralph Northam, he acknowledged that support for Democratic candidates in Hampton Roads hasn't been stronger in decades. That's Delegate Miller to his right and Dr. Northam in the background greeting the attendees.

An hour later a throng crowded into the Virginia Beach campaign office where the supporters stood elbow to elbow to listen to Governor Kaine discuss the contests for the 21st, 82nd, and 83rd House Districts being waged by Democratic candidates Bobby Mathieson, Bob MacIver, and Joe Bouchard. Governor Kaine dicussed Virginia Beach's trend toward blue over the past decade to the delight of the group largely responsible for this change.

These were just two of seven stops planned for the day. Two more are on tap for Labor Day.

The energy in the room was amazing! (Jen Little - 9/3/2007 9:37:56 AM)
Not since the famous "Webb Three Olives Event" in Williamsburg have I seen candidates so ready to take on their challengers!

Ralph Northam & Paula Miller were both so full of energy that radiated throughout the packed room of the Azalea Inn Grill. We are so fortunate to have these energetic candidates seeking to serve us in Richmond.  The optimism not only about the campaign but leadership approach left me feeling ready to roll up my sleeves to make good things happen!  I feel so fortunate to have Ralph Northam as a candidate for state Senate.

A huge THANK YOU to Governor Kaine for taking time out of his very busy schedule and away from his family on a Sunday afternoon to help our fabulous Democratic candidates win this November.  He was fabulous!  When he entered the room all eyes were on him.

The Mathews Dems who made the voyage to Norfolk for this fabulous event were glad to sit in bridge-tunnel traffic to have lunch with our future state Senator, Norfolk's fabulous Delegate, our superb Governor, and of course our Democratic friends in Norfolk!

We all had such a great time!

Now it is time to get to work!!
