Bill Bolling's "Border" Bigotry

Well, that didn't take long!  Just a week after Jerry Kilgore went live with his now-infamous "Hitler" ad, Jerry's running mate Bill "Enron of the Insurance Industry" Bolling has put up a rival in the "how low can you go" category.  This monstrosity, called "Border," is simply a wildly unsubtle attempt to win votes by outright race-baiting and xenophobic fear-mongering.

First Hitler for Kilgore, now race baiting with Bolling.  What next?  Mao for McDonnell?  I'm afraid to ask.  Here's the thing I really wonder: are Virginia Republicans all about fear, hatred, corruption, and stupidity?  Do they stand for ANYTHING positive?  Anything at all?  Or will they just keep stooping lower and lower, doing anything - Hitler, vile race baiting (both Hispanic and African American so far in this campaign, by the way) to win election?  Unfortunately, as Hans Solo said in Star Wars, "I have a very bad feeling about this!"

Luckily, based on public opinion polling data now coming out, the Hitler ad appears to have backfired on Kilgore, or at least not helped him in any way.  Now, we can only hope that this despicable "Border" ad does so on Bill Bolling as well.  The thing is, no matter what you think of immigration into this country - and I would remind all our "conservative" readers that President Bush is strongly pro-immigrant (always has been, always will be!) - you simply cannot stand for the garbage Bill Bolling's throwing up on your TV screens.

As Mark Warner said, in vetoing a bill that would have barred undocumented immigrants from receiving in-state tuition rates at Virginia colleges, "I will not attach my signature to legislation which has no substantive effect and is designed solely to score political points and divide people."

Likewise, no Virginians should vote for a candidate who runs an ad designed solely to score political points and divide people.  On November 8th, reject Bill Bolling's "Border" bigotry.  Vote Leslie Byrne for Lt. Governor!
