On Friday, August 24, Senior administrators for the Loudoun Public School System discussed new county policies that  address Aggressive Military Recruiting Practices, that where raised by LoudounForce's Coalition on Recruitment Issues.

The top items include:
(1) To help protect student privacy, the new Student Rights and Responsibilities handbook prominently includes Loudoun's first Military Recruitment Opt-out Form. The so-called "No Child Left Behind" Act requires High Schools to send the directory information of all students to military recruiters. Parents/students that return this Opt-out form within 15 days will prevent the dissemination of this information.

(2) To stop recruiters from trolling the halls and cafeterias, they will now be restricted to designated areas, which will normally be the career center.

Note that over 60% of the Pentagon's soldiers where recruited as teens.
