Tim Hugo Running Scared?

I have lived in the 40th Delegate District for over 7 years, and have been a constituent of Tim Hugo's since he was first elected.  But I had never received anything from him until today.

Today I received a letter from Timmy updating me on "some important legislative issues related to boating safety and clean water ..."  I guess Tim must have found out about that boat I got 4 years ago.  I also guess that Hugo must be worried about Rex Simmons to finally reach out to the voters.

The letter raises several interesting issues:
First of all, this is a blatant example of the Hugo using (abusing) state resources for campaign purposes.  If Hugo suddenly wants to tout his meager accomplishments, he should use campaign funds to send out his advertisements instead of sticking taxpayers with the bill.

Second, I object to Hugo's use of boat registration records for his political aims.  I don't know if these records are supposed to be public, but to me this smacks of "Big Brother."  There is no reason for Hugo and his staff to have access to my boat ownership records.

Finally, Hugo must have blinders on if he thinks that the issues that the most important issue to the 40th district is boater safety!  How many of us commute to work by boat?

P.S. -- It is also interesting to note that, according to Hugo, "summer is now fully underway" and we should all have plenty of time to enjoy the water.  Uh Tim, in case you haven't looked at the calendar, there are only 10 days until school starts.  For most of us summer is over.

Mark (Glant),

I received the same letter from Hugo ... and what Mark failed to notice is at the bottom of the envelope and letterhead the text reads "not paid for at taxpayers expense, paid for and authorized by Friends of Tim Hugo"

you might want to re-read the note ...
